2017 03 01 AVC Progress Report

Enclosed is your March 1st edition of THE ARTICLE V CONVENTION LEGISLATIVE PROGRESS REPORT. By my latest worksheet count, more than 145 pieces of Article V legislation have been filed in 37 states so far in 2017. At least three more states are scheduled to take up Article V in the near future.

Congratulations go out to the legislature of Wyoming and the Balanced Budget Amendment Task Force. Wyoming became the first state in 2017 to pass an Article V BBA resolution and to pass a delegate selection bill. Special congratulations are in order for Loren Ens, a true patriot who has dedicated his last year traveling between Arizona, Idaho and Wyoming, working on the BBA applications in each of those states. The BBATF count now stands at 29, but rescission efforts in Maryland and New Mexico could impact that number.

More congratulations go out to U.S. Term Limits which passed through the Utah House with bi-partisan support. We need to continue to build those bridges in this effort.

COS Project is active in 21 states with Texas on tap to pass a COS resolution once it gets taken up in the House.

Good luck to all. If I can ever be of assistance to any of you, please don’t hesitate to ask.
